Life is beautiful

I watched this movie-‘life is beautiful’ a few days back (i dont know why i had missed it earlier). I didn’t know what the story is about till I watched it… because of this I think, I became very emotional. Seeing its name I had never guessed it to be a tragic story. Even after so many days I keep thinking about it. The director has delivered the message in such an effective manner that I think each and everyone who watches it will try to implement the lead character's ( Guido orefice) outlook towards life. Coincidently, on the same day, I received a sms from my friend which read – “the man who is always smiling doesn’t mean that he has no problems, but the smile shows that he has the ability to overcome all the problems”. This aptly describes the character of Guido orifice. I think whoever adopts this in their life will make their life beautiful.

LIFE

LIFE, believe, is not a dream,
So dark as sages say;
Oft a little morning rain
Foretells a pleasant day:
Sometimes there are clouds of gloom,
But these are transient all;
If the shower will make the roses bloom,
Oh, why lament its fall?
Rapidly, merrily,
Life's sunny hours flit by,
Gratefully, cheerily,
Enjoy them as they fly.

What though death at times steps in,
And calls our Best away?
What though Sorrow seems to win,
O'er hope a heavy sway?
Yet Hope again elastic springs,
Unconquered, though she fell,
Still buoyant are her golden wings,
Still strong to bear us well.
Manfuly, fearlessly,
The day of trial bear,
For gloriously, victoriously,
Can courage quell dispair!

'dhane dhane per likha hota hai khaane wale ki naam’

Two days back I had a nice experience with our co- habitants in the hostel….. MONKEYS..(or it would be better to say- with the habitants of this hostel.. we r their co-habitants :)). I was coming back from mess with friends after lunch…had bought two packs of biscuits… when I was climbing the steps I suddenly saw something running down the stairs… before I realized what was happening , I had thrown the packets on the floor… ( have got a good reflex..u see :)) two monkeys happily took the packets and went… one of them sat right in my corridor and neatly opened the packet and started eating :( … just a few seconds back I had thought I will be eating those biscuits… its so true that… ‘dhane dhane per likha hota hai khaane wale ki naam’ ….

A Little Song of Life

    GLAD that I live am I;
    That the sky is blue;
    Glad for the country lanes,
    And the fall of dew.
    After the sun the rain;
    After the rain the sun;
    This is the way of life,
    Till the work be done.
    All that we need to do,
    Be we low or high,
    Is to see that we grow
    Nearer the sky.

Life in its shortest

13th Sep ’07, I was very excited… I was going home after 15 long days. this was my second visit home after I came to iitm and my first travel alone. The train was at 9 30pm. I had got a seat in ladies quota. first thing I noticed when I took my seat was that all others in my compartment were talking in kannada. I felt happy to hear Kannada after a long time. I started chatting with other girls in the train. We chatted as if we knew each other since a long time. We talked about everything…work, studies, family…… we talked.. laughed… spent a few happy hours before sleep. By the time we woke we were in Bangalore.. we parted not knowing whether we meet again in life.

I felt that this is ‘ life in its shortest’… In life we meet so many people… spend nice moments with them and finally one day we leave never to come back again.
